Competitive Tuition Scholarships
Truett Seminary offers a number of scholarships covering up to full tuition for select incoming students who have shown outstanding academic prowess, leadership potential, and ministry experience. All incoming students are encouraged to complete the Truett Scholarship Application in order to be considered for a full or partial tuition scholarship award.
By completing the Truett Scholarship Application, incoming students will be considered for the full and partial tuition scholarships listed below. Scholarship awards are determined by the Truett Scholarship Committee with consideration given to applicants who meet the specific qualifications for each scholarship.

Fall Scholarship Application Deadlines & Process:
Priority 1 Deadline: December 1
Priority 2 Deadline: February 1
Final Deadline: May 1
Spring Scholarship Application Deadlines & Process:
Final Deadline: November 1
In order to be considered for a scholarship award, both the student's scholarship application and the student's application for admittance (including all materials, references, transcripts, etc.) must be completed by the applicable deadline.
Scholarship applicants who intend to enroll in the fall semester following their admission will be given priority for full scholarships. Students who intend to enroll in the spring semester following their admission are eligible to apply; however, full tuition scholarship funds will not be distributed until the fall semester following their enrollment. Any student who is awarded a full tuition scholarship and defers his or her enrollment will forfeit the full tuition scholarship.
Scholarship Opportunities:
University Ministerial Scholarship
- Demonstrated involvement in student ministry, church ministry, nonprofit organizations and/or missions
- Active involvement in a church
- Completed First-Year Church Certification Form (Baptist students only)
- Minimum 3.25 GPA
Dean’s Scholarship
- Graduate of Baylor University
- Demonstrated involvement in student ministry, church ministry, nonprofit organizations and/or missions
- Active involvement in a church
- Completed First-Year Church Certification Form (Baptist students only)
- Minimum 3.25 GPA
Baylor Honors College Excellence Scholarship
- Graduate of the Baylor University Honors College (*This scholarship will be awarded in consultation with representatives from the Baylor University Honors College)
- Demonstrated involvement in student ministry, church ministry, nonprofit organizations and/or missions
- Active involvement in a church
- Completed First-Year Church Certification Form (Baptist students only)
- Minimum 3.25 GPA
Texas Baptist Leadership Scholarship
- Demonstrated leadership within a Texas Baptist ministry
- Active involvement in a Baptist church in Texas
- Completed First-Year Baptist Certification (Baptist students only)
- Minimum 3.25 GPA
African American Baptist Scholarship
- Identify as African American, African, Caribbean, Black, or of African descent
- Demonstrated involvement in Baptist ministry and/or church
- Completed First-Year Church Certification Form (Baptist students only)
- Minimum 3.25 GPA
Texas Hispanic Baptist Scholarship
- Active member of a church affiliated with the Hispanic Baptist Convention of Texas with involvement in the church’s Hispanic-related ministry
- Willing to attend the Annual Meeting of the Hispanic Baptist Convention of Texas
- Completed First-Year Church Certification Form (Baptist students only)
- Minimum 3.25 GPA
Wesley House Excellence Scholarship
- Demonstrated involvement in student ministry, church ministry, nonprofit organizations and/or missions
- Active involvement in a Methodist or Wesleyan church
- Completed Wesleyan/Methodist Certification Form
- Minimum 3.25 GPA
Bishop Scholar Excellence Scholarship
- Graduate of Georgetown College in Kentucky (*This scholarship will be awarded in consultation with representatives from Bishop Scholarship)
- Demonstrated involvement in student ministry, church ministry, nonprofit organizations and/or missions
- Active involvement in a church
- Completed First-Year Church Certification Form (Baptist students only)
- Minimum 3.25 GPA
