Scholarships
Truett Seminary applies over $5.5 million in scholarship and institutional support every year. This is made possible by the generosity of Baylor University as well as many other gracious donors and supporters.
Scholarship awards are limited to published attempted hours total. Scholarship awards may be extended for Baptist students and students in the joint degree programs. Click here to view current tuition rates for Baylor's Truett Seminary.
Baptist Ministry Scholarship
Active members of Baptist* churches who are preparing for careers in church-related vocational ministry are eligible to receive additional scholarships. We are grateful to the generosity of the Baptist General Convention of Texas for providing the Baptist student scholarships.

The appropriate completed Church Certification Forms are required for receipt of this Baptist Ministry Scholarship.

*Incoming students who are members of any Baptist church may initially qualify for the Baptist Certification Scholarship and may have their church sign off on the Baptist Church Certification Form. IIn subsequent years, in order to continue to receive this Scholarship, students must be involved with a Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT), or Texas Baptists, church and renew their scholarship through completion of a Recertification Form submitted prior to April 1st each year. Failure to submit the Church Certification Renewal Form to the Truett Seminary Scholarships office within the deadline will constitute a forfeiture of assistance. Renewal forms received after the deadline will be considered for subsequent semesters within the remainder of the appropriate academic year.
Competitive Tuition Scholarships
Truett Seminary offers a number of scholarships covering up to full tuition for select incoming students who have shown outstanding academic prowess, leadership potential, and ministry experience. All incoming students are encouraged to complete the Truett Scholarship Application in order to be considered for a full or partial tuition scholarship award.
By completing the Truett Scholarship Application, incoming students will be considered for full and partial tuition scholarships. Scholarship awards are determined by the Truett Scholarship Committee with consideration given to applicants who meet the specific qualifications.

Spring Scholarship Application Deadlines & Process:
Final Deadline: November 1
In order to be considered for a scholarship award, both the student's scholarship application and the student's application for admittance (including all materials, references, transcripts, etc.) must be completed by the applicable deadline.
Church Matching Scholarships
Accepted students are welcome and encouraged to utilize the Church Matching Scholarship resources provided in order to request additional scholarship funds from their church. This includes Baptist, Wesleyan/Methodist, and other denominations.
Truett Alumni Association Scholarship
This scholarship, endowed by generous Truett alumni, is intended to help defray the cost of seminary education for outstanding current MDiv or MACM students at George W. Truett Theological Seminary. Applicants should have completed at least 42 hours of seminary coursework by the end of the current semester, be currently enrolled at Truett, and have plans to register for the subsequent fall semester. Recipients will be announced in April. Selected students will be awarded up to $1,000. All applications should be submitted to the External Affairs office by the deadline indicated in the form.
Outside Scholarships
Truett Seminary also offers several alternative scholarship options for students. We refer to these as “Outside Scholarships.” A student may apply for these at any time during their seminary career; however, there are important steps you must follow as part of this process:
- Report the scholarship to Baylor: Complete the Outside Scholarship Report Form.

- Ensure Correct Payment Details: Make sure the check is made out to Baylor University, with your student ID and Name clearly indicated on the check.
- Confirm Delivery Information: Verify the address for delivery.
