Program Overview
The FSI Online Certificate Program provides accessible and flexible theological training, cultural literacy, and leadership development for Christians in sports. Our non-credit courses are delivered online and are offered at three different times during the year: Summer, Fall, and Winter/Spring sessions. Students are free to enroll in any course of their choosing; there is no application process and no prerequisites. Enroll in a course and work towards the completion of a certificate of your choice. After you complete a foundational level I certificate you can continue the journey towards an advanced level II certificate
LEVEL I CERTIFICATE
Certificate in Sports Ministry
This certificate is designed to equip current and aspiring sports ministry leaders, chaplains, and staff. It is a continuing education opportunity for exploring the theological foundations of sports ministry and enhancing relevant skills and practices.
Requirements (Complete 4 Courses): Sports & Theology and Sports Chaplaincy; plus two electives.
Certificate in Integrative Sports Leadership
This certificate is designed as a continuing education opportunity for current and aspiring coaches, athletic administrators, and other sports leaders. It provides a deeper understanding of holistic sports leadership rooted in a Christian foundation and perspective.
Requirements (Complete 4 Courses): Sports & Theology and Sports Leadership; plus two electives.
Certificate in Sports Culture
This certificate is a flexible continuing education opportunity for those interested broadly in the study of faith and sports. It is designed for anyone who would like to explore the culture of sports in a deeper way from a Christian perspective.
Requirements (Complete 4 Courses): Sports & Theology; plus three electives.
LEVEL II CERTIFICATE
Advanced Certificate in Sports and Theology
This certificate is an advanced continuing education opportunity designed to reward those who pursue further studies in FSI’s Online Certificate Program. Through the completion of eight courses, it offers a comprehensive and well-rounded study of sports and Christianity from a variety of angles and disciplines. Through this certificate, students are encouraged to think more deeply and intentionally about distinctly Christian approaches to engagement in sports.
Requirements (Level I & Complete 4 Courses): Complete a Level I Certificate; Complete an additional four elective FSI OCP (*1 elective can be completed through a Truett OCP course)
