Mentoring Program
At Truett Theological Seminary, we believe that training the next generation of Christian leaders and ministers is a partnership between the faculties of theological schools and the staff and leaders in local churches and ministry organizations.
Vision: To provide every Truett ministry student with a semester of supervised, reflective, hands-on field experience in Christian service.
How It Works
Every student in the Master of Divinity or Master of Arts in Christian Ministry programs experiences a significant portion of their education in the field under the supervision of an experienced mentor. The purpose of the mentoring semester is to gain hands-on experience and to learn to reflect on the practice of ministry with a seasoned practitioner.
The field experience is accompanied by a rigorous reading program in which the student reflects on theological and biblical aspects of ministry. Truett students carry out their mentoring experience in churches, hospitals, military bases, and ministry organizations across Texas, throughout the U.S., and worldwide.
