Baylor’s Truett Seminary Tuition Update for 2026-2027
WACO, Texas (Feb 20, 2026) –At the regularly scheduled February meeting of the Baylor University Board of Regents, a 2.8% tuition increase was approved for Baylor’s George W. Truett Theological Seminary. Beginning in fall 2026, tuition will increase from $690 to $710 per credit hour. This marks the first tuition adjustment at Truett Seminary in four years.
In the midst of this change, Truett Seminary remains deeply committed to making theological education accessible and affordable for its students. In conjunction with this increase, the Seminary will adjust its scholarships to offset the impact for the majority of students.
Students will see an approximate 2.8% increase per credit hour except for the portion of tuition covered by a Truett-funded scholarship award or Baylor University employee tuition remission benefit. Truett scholarships and Baylor employee tuition remission values will be adjusted upward to account for the rate increase, thus reducing or eliminating its impact for most students. Award amounts for scholarships funded by entities outside Truett are determined by the funding organization and may not increase in relation to Baylor’s tuition rate change.
“It is our mission at Truett Seminary to equip God-called men and women for gospel ministry in and alongside Christ’s Church by the power of the Holy Spirit,” said Toby Osburn, EdD, assistant dean of student services. “In carrying out our mission, Truett is committed to ensuring that students can do this with little to no educational debt. Truett remains committed to responsible stewardship, financial planning, and expanding scholarship support for each student wherever possible.”
As part of this announcement, Truett will continue to work with each student to prioritize need-based and merit-based aid while maintaining clear and timely communication with Financial Aid to ensure students and prospective students understand their options.
