Andrew Garbarino, PhD

Andrew Garbarino holds a PhD in Biblical Studies (Old Testament) from Princeton Theological Seminary. He is also the recipient of a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and an AB from Harvard. His primary field of specialty is biblical Hebrew poetry, with particular attention to the integration of philological, literary, and comparative methods. His dissertation examines sublime aesthetics in the Psalms.

Garbarino’s research interests also include textual criticism, papyrology, Ugaritic studies, historical Hebrew grammar, religious themes in contemporary science fiction and fantasy literature, and theological aesthetics. In both his scholarship and teaching, he seeks to serve the academy, the church, and the great city of Houston.
