About Dr. Tucker
Dr. W. Dennis Tucker, Jr. is Professor of Christian Scriptures at Baylor University's Truett Seminary. Dr. Tucker's main area of research is the Book of Psalms. Currently he directs the Baylor University-Universität Münster Research Cluster on the Book of Psalms. He also serves as series editor for The Baylor Handbook on the Hebrew Bible published by Baylor University Press. He and Jamie Grant recently completed Psalms, Vol. 2 in the NIV Application Commentary series. In his monograph, Constructing and Deconstructing Power in Psalms 107-150, Dr. Tucker explored the notion of power in the final book of the Psalter and observed an anti-imperial critique in that collection of psalms. He is currently completing a commentary on the book of Malachi in the Zondervan Exegetical Commentary on the Old Testament series. Dr. Tucker presents regularly at national and international meetings.
Dr. Tucker continues to preach and serve in local congregations. He has served churches in Texas, North Carolina, Kentucky, Indiana, and Arkansas. He and his wife, Tish, have three daughters: Hannah, Sarah, and Hope.
